Joey Logano is a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, but he isn’t fighting for the title right now. Halfway through the 2026 Cup Series regular season, Logano sits 18th in the point standings as the final Team Penske driver. Ryan Blaney (third) and Austin Cindric (17th) have more epoints.
The driver of the No. 22 car sits 29 points behind Ryan Preece for the final spot in the Chase. Logano has shown speed on different occasions; however, the No. 22 team has been inconsistent. It doesn’t help that Logano has been unlucky, getting caught up in wrecks or incidents that affect his day.

Logano obviously has the talent to make a 16-driver Chase, but this is starting to become a big story. Team Penske hasn’t been as fast during the 2026 NASCAR season, and there is a real chance that Logano doesn’t make the Chase. There is still time, but the No. 22 team has to turn up the wick soon.
