Jose Delano wants to be a busy man in 2026.
The UFC newcomer, who debuted Saturday at UFC Fight Night 272, is not looking to sit around now that he’s in the UFC. Delano (17-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) wants to fight at least two more times this year, and he’s ready to go as soon as summer.

“Man, if it’s in my power, I want to fight early, maybe three months,” Delano told MMA Junkie and other reporters at the UFC Fight Night 272 post-fight news conference. “If anyone gave me a fight, I’ll sign the contract now. I want to fight a lot – two (more) times yet in this year, if it’s possible.”
Delano is mainly looking to stay active. He has no preference on who he’d get matched up with. Delano has no problem leaving that up to the UFC matchmakers.
“I think I trust in Sean Shelby to get the matches and the UFC guys,” Delano said. “I only want to fight. (Whoever) he wants to put to me, I will fight.”
The Brazilian won his UFC debut this past Saturday by outpointing Robert Ruchala (11-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) in a hard-fought unanimous decision. He entered the promotion by way of Dana White Contender Series in August 2025. With this win, Delano is now on a five-fight winning streak.

“It was an amazing fight for you fans, and I think I’m very happy about the fight,” Delano said. “It was three rounds of a lot of punches and kicks, and for me, it’s good because I’m growing up like a fighter in UFC.”
