Under head coach Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes‘ offense has been primarily quarterback- and wide receiver-driven. The most underutilized skill position was the tight end, with just 52 receptions in the group since 2023.
That number seems set to increase dramatically with offensive coordinator Brennan Marion running the show and former star high school coach Josh Niblett coaching the tight ends.

Niblett spoke to reporters Friday morning, his first public comments since being hired from the high school ranks in January, and discussed how the Go-Go offense will elevate his tight end room.
“The greatest thing about it is the Go-Go offense puts players in advantageous situations and matchups,” Niblett said. “This offense creates spaces and puts guys in quality matchups.”
Many Colorado fans could argue that the biggest detriment to the Buffs’ offense over the past few years has been the ineptitude in putting the team’s best skill players in position to make plays. According to Niblett and anyone else with experience with the Go-Go, creating space is one of the system’s greatest attributes.

Colorado has always had the players to make the plays, but now it has the scheme to go along with them. Throw in coaches like Niblett and versatile weapons like tight end Zach Atkins, and you’ve got a potentially scary offense.
