Junior National Finalist Alba Arnall Gives 2027 Verbal to Cal Golden Bears
NEW COMMIT: The University of California, Berkeley has received a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Alba Arnall out of New York City. Arnall is a versatile swimmer who has achieved several Nationals qualifying cuts.
Her twin sister, Ines Arnall, recently verbally committed to Stanford – making them in-state and in-conference rivals. They will both head to the West Coast as part of the Class of 2031.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“LET’S GO BEARS!! I’m proud to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of California, Berkeley! Lots of love and thanks to my friends for their tremendous support; to my coach, Carle Fierro, for having my back from the first day I walked into the Wolverines, for making hard work fun, and helping to build a mindset that work does indeed work. To Kim Brackin and lan Pope, I am so grateful for your mentorship and guidance; for nurturing my ability, and my love for this sport. Truly, to my family: my big brother Harper & my Mum and Dad, for your unwavering loyalty. And to my twin sister, Inés, with whom l’ve done everything: you’ve always been my greatest supporter, pushing me to become the best version of myself, both inside and outside the pool. Love you! Finally, tremendous thanks to Coach Dave Durden for believing in me; to David Marsh, Josh Hunger, Noah Yanchulis and the Cal Swim Team for welcoming me to Bear Territory! I cannot wait to jump off the 10 and get to work with you all! I am honoured to join you! GO BEARS!!”
Arnall does her club swimming with Westchester Aquatic Club. She placed 12th in the 200 fly at Juniors East back in December. Last summer, she won the 100m fly and 200m fly at Senior Mets Summer Championships before going on to final in five events at Greensboro Futures.
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 54.60
