England scored 10 tries to beat the United States and set up a Pool C decider against Argentina in the Under-20 Junior World Championship in Georgia.

Andy Titterrell’s side held off Ireland to win 34-27 in their opening game and made a number of changes for game two, including five to the backline.

England, who won the tournament in 2024, blew away the USA in a dominant opening half, with Harlequins hooker Jerold Gorleku impressing with two tries.

Leading 49-14 shortly after half-time, Titterrell’s side lost control of the game as centre Dane Mitchell cut England’s defence open to complete a second-half hat-trick, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

England managed to regain control and crossed through Connor Treacey and Tyler Offiah in the final 10 minutes to finish as comfortable winners.

The Pumas defeated Ireland 62-40 to back up their emphatic 78-14 win over the United States.

Each pool winner progresses to the semi-finals, making the final Pool C match on Tuesday (12:30 BST) a must-win for both sides.
