It’s media day for the Phoenix Mercury and guard Kahleah Copper is already bringing the energy.
On Wednesday afternoon, the basketball player gave her fans a fun, behind-the-scenes look by posting a photo dump on Instagram and sharing a couple of photos on X.

In the Instagram post, Copper can be seen confidently posing in her Mercury uniform, as well as giving us a glimpse of the team’s media day setup. She also included a fun video with fellow Mercury teammates Celeste Taylor, Satou Sabally and Kalani Brown.
This season marks Copper’s second with the Phoenix Mercury and her tenth overall in the WNBA. She spent the bulk of her career with the Chicago Sky, playing there from 2017 to 2023. Copper was originally selected as the 7th overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics.
Copper also competed in the Summer 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, earning her first gold medal and the United States’ eighth consecutive gold medal.

The post garnered a lot of attention and comments from fans and friends, including the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese.

Their friendship is all about the banter, always joking around and throwing playful digs at each other. But underneath it all, there’s a lot of respect. In the recent Instagram post, Reese dropped a “weirdo” and “I’m so off you,” but then followed up with “this cute tho I guess…” in the comments, showing that despite the teasing, they’ve got each other’s backs.

Along with a ton of fire and heart-eye emojis, many of Copper’s followers commented on how great her pictures looked and praised her hair.
“Yess crinkle curls😍,” a user commented on Instagram.
“HAIR 😍😍” a user writes on Instagram. “all yall hair ate down😍”

One user posts, “you don’t look a day over 20 just aging like fine wine.”
“It was just beautiful woman after beautiful woman after beautiful woman. My goodness 😍” writes one Instagram user. “Mercury got hella face cards wow lol.”
Many on X were also shocked to find out that this is the 30-year-old’s tenth season in the WNBA.

Cooper and Co. will kick off their preseason against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday, May 6.
