The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Tennessee Volunteers with ease on Saturday night.
Ty Simpson was elite once again, and the talented quarterback was credited with a total of 253 yards through the air along with two touchdowns. Alabama’s defense played at an extremely high level throughout the matchup as well, as the unit was able to record an impressive four sacks against a high powered Tennessee offense. Kalen DeBoer took a moment after the game to speak with the media, and the Alabama head coach was quick to mention his black and crimson hoodie that many believe to be superstitious.

DeBoer has worn the black and crimson hoodie consistently for big games. Alabama has played at an elite level when the hoodie has been worn in the past, and the Tide were able to thrive on both sides of the football for the majority of the night. Coach DeBoer sent a clear message to his team following the win in Tuscaloosa as the black hoodie continues to work as a good luck charm.
“This isn’t new,” DeBoer said. “I’ve done this for years, but we’re gonna ride the momentum. I told the guys not to put any ashes, or get any ashes on it down there in the locker room. Whatever works.”
Alabama dominated Tennessee throughout all four quarters of the contest. Alabama was excellent on both sides of the ball and the Tide continue to look like one of the hottest teams in all of college football. Alabama will be on the road in South Carolina next weekend for a matchup with the Gamecocks as the Tide will look to keep things rolling.
