The Casey Alexander era is set to begin for the Kansas State Wildcats this season.
On Monday, the school announced the non-conference portion of the schedule. The Wildcats have games against the SEC (Missouri Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide), Big East (Creighton) and perennial contender Gonzaga.

Alexander, who comes over from Belmont, replaced Jerome Tang. The Wildcats are coming off another season of missing the NCAA Tournament. Alexander, who signed a five-year contract, has led teams to 10 consecutive 20-win seasons during his coaching career.

CUTTING MISTAKES KEY FOR K-STATE FOOTBALL
As Kansas State football looks to rebound from last season, there’s one underrated factor highlighted by the 2025 blunders: the one-score games.
Kansas State, even for as lackluster a year as it was, was technically still right there in terms of competing. The Wildcats suffered only one blowout, against No. 4 Texas Tech. They lost by a combined 17 points, which could easily have swung with a positive play or a turnover brought back.
CBS Sports pinned these mistakes as the Wildcats’ downfall last year, saying that fixing them can help their rebound effort. They highlighted the turnover margin as proof that Kansas State was doing enough to win, but couldn’t capitalize and finish.

“They had a 14-6 win over Oklahoma State and four losses of six points or fewer,” the article wrote. “I see those results, and I don’t think Kansas State was unlucky. I think Kansas State shot itself in the foot and didn’t execute.”
