Kaydin Jones, top RB in Oklahoma, commits to Cowboys

Kaydin Jones, a four-star running back from Jenks High School, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State.

Jones is the No. 3 prospect in Oklahoma, No. 23 at his position and No. 394 overall in the class of 2026. His dad, Kejuan, was a running back for the Sooners 20 years ago.

There was some doubt about OSU’s ability to recruit running backs after firing former RB coach John Wozniak, who coached Justice Hill, Chuba Hubbard, Jaylen Warren and Ollie Gordon. It turns out new RB coach Cory Patterson can pick up right where Wozniak left off.

“(OSU) came and swept me off my feet,” Jones said. “Since the new coaching staff got there, they’ve shown that they want me.”

The 6-foot, 185-pound Jones has run for more than 1,200 yards in all three of his high school seasons.

OSU’s 2026 class added a quartet of three-star players earlier this year – offensive tackle Aidan Martin (Berryhill), linebacker Trey McGlothin (Bixby) and defensive ends Jaylen Stewart (Pearland, Texas) and Landon Bland (Carthage, Missouri). Jones brings the Cowboys’ class to No. 31 in 247’s rankings, one spot ahead of OU.
