The Los Angeles Sparks‘ star guard will miss the next four weeks with a lower left leg injury, the team confirmed Wednesday.

Plum is enjoying the best statistical season of her 10-year WNBA career. She is averaging 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game for a Sparks team that has desperately needed her contributions.
Los Angeles has one of the WNBA’s worst defenses, ranking 13th in defensive rating. However, the Sparks are 8-8 and in the thick of the playoff race thanks to a good offense that has been led by veterans Plum and Nneka Ogwumike.
The timeline given by the Sparks likely rules Plum out of action through the All-Star Game, which will be held July 25 at the United Center in Chicago.
