When point guard Jaland Lowe transferred to Kentucky last offseason, it was viewed as one of the top additions in the country. He was coming off a standout season at Pitt in which he averaged 16.8 points, 5.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds, earning Third Team All-ACC honors.
But after playing in just nine games with the Wildcats during the 2025-26 campaign due to a nagging shoulder injury, Lowe has decided to once enter the portal, per On3’s Joe Tipton.

He averaged just 8.0 points, 2.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds on 35.8% shooting from the field and 20.8% from three-point range. Lowe last played on January 10 against Mississippi State, appearing for just three minutes before exiting due to his shoulder, which caused him to miss the rest of the season.
Without their 6-foot-1, 170 pound point guard, Kentucky made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament before falling to Iowa State. Much of the offensive load fell on the shoulders of combo guard Otega Oweh, who averaged a team-leading 18.6 points per game.
Lowe was with the Panthers for the first two seasons of his career after committing as a four-star recruit. He lived up to expectations, eventually transferring to Kentucky and having a season plagued by injuries.

The former Pitt and Kentucky point guard will likely have two seasons of eligibility remaining, as a medical redshirt is squarely on the table for Lowe.
