The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off a decent season last year in which they went 22-14 and advanced to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. It was Kentucky’s second year under head coach Mark Pope, and to help bolster the roster, the Wildcats brought in a group of six players out of the transfer portal, including NBA prospect Milan Momcilovic.

Milan Momcilovic was one of the top players available in the transfer portal, and a big boost to Kentucky‘s frontcourt. Mark Pope has already gotten an early look at the future NBA Draft pick during Kentucky’s offseason workouts, and the one thing he’s been impressed with is what Momcilovic showed all season with Iowa State, as per Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68.
“When I watch him play, the time where it seems like he’s the most comfortable in the world is when he’s taking a shot, and even more so when he’s taking a big shot,” Pope said.

Momcilovic was the best shooter in college basketball last season, a role he is ready to reprise with Kentucky. One game in particular that stood out was in the Big 12 Tournament when Momcilovic exploded offensively against Arizona, going on a 9-0 run himself to put the Cyclones up at halftime. He would continue his hot shooting in the second half albeit Iowa State losing on a buzzer-beater.

Now, the Wisconsin native will show off his shooting prowess for Kentucky. This past season, he appeared in 37 games for Iowa State, at a little over 30 minutes per game. He shot 50. 6 percent from the field and led the NCAA Division 1 in 3-point percentage at 48.7 percent.
