The Kings selected Arkansas guard Darius Acuff with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, a move that had been widely anticipated throughout the pre-draft process.
Acuff enters the NBA after a dominant freshman season in which he led the SEC in both scoring and assists, averaging 23.5 points and 6.4 assists per game while shooting an impressive 48.4% from the field and 44.0% from three-point range.
His performance earned him SEC Player of the Year honors and consensus First Team All-American recognition.
The 6-foot-3 point guard is regarded as one of the most dynamic offensive players in the draft, capable of creating shots for himself and others while operating as a primary ball-handler.
His offensive skill set and playmaking ability were major reasons Sacramento targeted him with the seventh pick.
While there are concerns about his size and defensive consistency, evaluators believe Acuff has the talent to become a high-level offensive engine at the NBA level.
The Kings are expected to give him a significant role as they continue building around a younger core that includes Maxime Raynaud, Nique Clifford, and Keegan Murray.
