Ryan Blaney on locking into NASCAR playoffs, all Penske drivers with wins in 2025
Ryan Blaney describes the benefits of all three Team Penske drivers being locked into the NASCAR playoffs with wins in the 2025 Cup season.
- Kyle Larson experienced brake failure at Watkins Glen, forcing him to exit the race early.
- Larson lost control of his No. 5 Chevrolet due to the brake issue, impacting his chances in the regular season title race.
Kyle Larson exited the Watkins Glen NASCAR race late in the first stage with brake trouble.
After spinning out in Turn 1, Larson told his team he had no brakes in the No. 5 Hendricks Motorsports Chevrolet. The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion was able to pump the brakes to get some stopping power on his way to pit road in the Go Bowling at The Glen
The car was then taken to the garage, leaving Larson’s Cup Series title hopes in jeopardy with just two races remaining. He entered the race in third place in the points standings.
The problem was a seal issue in the brake line for Larson, who has won three races this season.
