Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney looked to be locked into a battle for the win in the final 20 laps of Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami.
But Larson lost control going into Turn 3 while trying to wedge his car in between Blaney and lapped car Austin Dillon, spinning through the corner and bringing out the caution with 13 laps to go.
A slow pit stop, with necessary adjustments after the spin, forced Larson back to 10th place, and he ended up finishing 13th after slipping back on the final run.
Larson will head into Martinsville and the final Round of 8 race seven points off the cutline unofficially after Tyler Reddick’s win on Sunday.
