Lady Vols basketball will open the 2025-26 season against NC State, the schools announced Tuesday.
The season opener will be played at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Nov. 4, 2025. Although it’s technically a neutral site, Greensboro is only about an hour from NC State’s campus in Raleigh.
First Horizon Coliseum, which has hosted the ACC men’s and women’s basketball tournaments a combined 53 times, has a capacity of 22,000. The Wolfpack‘s home court at Reynolds Coliseum holds 5,500.
First Horizon Coliseum partnered with the Gazelle Group, a sports marketing firm, to organize the matchup. Part of the Gazelle Group’s specialization is in event management, and it has put on college sporting events like the Empire Classic, Legends Classic and others.
“We are excited to partner with Gazelle Group to bring another marquee college basketball game to First Horizon Coliseum,” First Horizon Coliseum general manager Scott Johnson said in a press release. “As the host of 24 ACC women’s basketball tournaments and six NCAA women’s basketball regionals, Greensboro has a long history of supporting women’s college basketball and we look forward to having a packed house next season for this terrific ACC-SEC clash.”
