Longstreet was a five-star rated prospect in the 2025 recruiting class and was among the top-ranked QBs left in the portal. He played sparingly for the Trojans this past season behind Jayden Maiava. But he showed glimpses of his talent in the season-opening blowout win over Missouri State, going 9-for-9 passing for 69 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 54 yards and two more scores in a USC’s 73-13 win.
Longstreet is LSU’s third QB portal addition this week, joining Leavitt and Elon’s Landen Clark, who threw for 2,321 yards and and 18 TDS last season. Kiffin needed to overhaul the QBs room with with former starters Garrett Nussmeier out of eligibility and Michael Van Buren transferring to South Florida.

Kiffin first hosted Cincinnati’s Brendan Sorsby in the first few days of the transfer portal window, before Sorsby chose Texas Tech. He was also unable to coax former Ole Miss starter Trinidad Chambliss, who’s hoping to receive a sixth year of eligibility, to join him and former Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. at LSU.
Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. was also rumored to LSU after briefly entering the transfer portal but opted to stay with the Huskies.
