Lara Phipps and Hannah Hill helped Purdue earn a 191-106 win over Rutgers in a Big Ten meet Friday night in Piscataway.

Hill and Phipps were on both of Purdue’s winning relays. Phipps anchored the 200 medley in 22.98, then led off the 400 free relay in 51.08. Hill brought it home in 52.56. Hill won the 50 free in 23.03, with Phipps second in 23.50. Phipps won the 100 free in 50.68, the Boilermakers sweeping the top four places.

Abby Marcukaitis added two wins to the winning effort. She went 54.85 to win the 100 backstroke, then 1:58.83 to dominate the 200 back. Kate Mouser won the 500 free in 4:54.89, with teammate Caitlin Hurley second. Hurley (1:50.26) had bested Mouser in the 200 free. Adele Sands (1,000 free), Kiera Kask (100 fly) and Kathryn Ackerman (400 individual medley) added wins for Purdue.

The Boilermakers also swept on the boards. Jenna Sonnenberg was the only diver to crack 300 points on 1-meter, winning with 302.03. Daryn Wright was third on the shorter board before scoring 341.93 to edge teammate Sophia McAfee by .23 points. It’s McAfee’s second runner-up result of the day.

Rutgers got two of its wins back-to-back in the middle of the meet. Molly Urkiel went 1:03.10 in a tremendous 100 breaststroke race in which the top four finishers were clustered within six tenths. She edged teammate Sofia Bartoloni by .03. Blanka Berecz followed with a win in the 200 fly in 2:00.93.

Urkiel returned to win the 200 breast in 2:15.96, again followed by Bartoloni. She was also second in the 400 IM.
