Lerone Murphy revealed he did injure his hip in his bout at UFC Fight Night 270.
Murphy (17-1-1 MMA, 9-1-1 UFC), a featherweight title contender, suffered his first professional defeat this past Saturday, losing a majority decision to Movsar Evloev in the main event of the card – which took place at The O2 Arena in London. Toward the end of the fight, Murphy complained about potentially having injured his left hip.

On Monday, in a post on his Instagram stories, Murphy revealed he tore his hip flexor during Round 4 of his bout against Evloev (20-0 MMA, 10-0 UFC). He appeared in the video to be getting cold therapy on the injured area.
Apart from giving a health update, Murphy also made a post reflecting on his defeat. He believes he did enough to win the fight, and certainly many online feel the same way, even though it was a close and competitive bout.
“I loved every second of the fight,” Murphy wrote on Instagram. “I thought I done enough to take the first 3 rounds although it was close. A draw at the very least with the point deduction, but on to the next. Movsar fought a smart fight and didn’t give me many openings. I could have created a bit more chaos. I hope we can run this back at some point. ILL BE BACK WITH A VENGEANCE”
