The 2025 WNBA season is quickly approaching, with preseason action tipping off on May 2. The Dallas Wings will take on the Las Vegas Aces in what will likely be Paige Bueckers’ first game action in the WNBA.
There’s plenty of buzz surrounding the No. 1 overall pick, with many believing she’s poised to become the league’s next big star.

On Wednesday, the Wings introduced Bueckers to the media alongside the team’s other new draft picks. One reporter said, “You’re probably the hottest thing in Dallas right now,” when talking to the former UConn Husky.
“I would say the weather’s probably hotter than me,” Bueckers joked back.
Joke aside, the reporter wasn’t wrong. Bueckers’ arrival has sparked major excitement, and more fans than ever will have the chance to watch her play.
Back in February, the Wings signed an exclusive local broadcasting deal with KFAA-TV (Channel 29) in Dallas-Fort Worth, according to Myrah Taylor of the Dallas Morning News. The move expanded its “broadcast reach through additional agreements that will triple the team’s local TV footprint and bring free Wings games to 6.3 million households across 12 markets in 2025.”

The Wings also have previous agreements with Gray Media, Corridor Television and TEGNA that will continue.

With this new broadcasting deal and Bueckers’ arrival, the team’s attendance is expected to increase. Dallas finished second-to-last in average attendance last season, with just over 5,900 fans per game.
That’s no surprise, though, considering their 9-31 record, the second worst in the league.
