Texas men’s basketball coach Sean Miller has landed another Lithuanian. Guard Mantas Laurencikas has committed to the Longhorns. The 6-foot-4, 19-year-old joins countryman Matas Vokietaitis on the UT roster. Vokietaitis, who came alive in the NCAA Tournament, has said he will return to Austin next season.
Laurencikas has played for his native country in FIBA competition for the past four summers. He currently plays for AS Monaco Basketball. He averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in France this past season.
He joins an impressive roster constructed by Miller in just over a month. Laurencikas joins transfer guards Isaiah Johnson (Colorado), Mikey Lewis (St. Mary’s) and Amari Evans (Tennessee) and forwards David Punch (TCU), Elyjah Freeman (Auburn).

By playing professionally in Europe, Laurencikas has experiences that could give him an advantage at the college level in America. He has played professionally since he was 15 and will enter the season at age 20.
Laurencikas represents the 14th and second-to-last roster spot for the Longhorns.
