Longtime Connecticut Sun player Brionna Jones will sign with the Atlanta Dream in free agency, ESPN’s Alexa Philippou reported Thursday.
Jones has played her entire WNBA career to this point with the Connecticut Sun. She was drafted eighth overall in the 2017 WNBA Draft by the Sun and played there from 2017 to 2024.
Jones is a three-time WNBA All-Star, the WNBA’s 2021 Most Improved Player and the 2022 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year. She was also named to the 2021 WNBA All-Defensive Second Team.
Last season, Jones averaged 13.7 points per game for the Connecticut Sun during the regular season en route to her third WNBA All-Star selection.
Prior to her WNBA career, Jones starred collegiately at Maryland. While there, she was a three-time First Team All-Big 10 selection, a First Team AP All-American and was named to the Big 10 Conference’s All-Defensive Team.
