For the second straight year, a Michigan football player will be on the cover of the EA Sports college football game.

Last year, with the redux of the popular video game series, it was running back Donovan Edwards who graced the cover of both the regular and the deluxe editions, with the latter featuring him, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, and eventual Heisman Trophy winner, Colorado athlete Travis Hunter. This time, however, the Wolverine featured has yet to play a snap.

That’s right, before ever truly donning a winged helmet, quarterback Bryce Underwood will be a cover star for EA Sports College Football 26.

An Instagram user, ‘tubbycfb,’ got his eyes on the deluxe cover, shot at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. And Underwood is in the second row to the left, along with several other key figures in the sport, including Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, and coaches like Penn State’s James Franklin and Georgia coach Kirby Smart.

That the cover for the video game was shot in the Rose Bowl explains why Underwood has been in Los Angeles over the course of the past week. While there, he’s attended a LA Lakers game and met up with LeBron James, as well as having appeared on The Rich Eisen Show.

He joins other Michigan luminaries such as Charles Woodson and Denard Robinson as Wolverines who have graced the cover of the popular video game franchise.
