Christian Academy receiver Ja’Hyde Brown committed to Louisville football on Monday.
The four-star prospect was initially committed to Indiana but decommitted March 13. He chose the Cardinals over Kentucky, Purdue, Alabama and Auburn, among other schools. He’s the ninth overall and second wide receiver commit of Louisville’s 2027 recruiting class. He’s also the third in-town commit, joining Trinity cornerback Allen Evans and defensive lineman Sebastian Blue, and fourth from the Bluegrass state.

The No. 7 recruit in Kentucky, Brown made The Courier Journal’s all-state first team after ranking No. 1 in the state in receptions (98), receiving yards (1,566) and touchdown catches (24) and helping the Centurions win their fourth straight Class 3A state title. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound wideout also had two returns for touchdowns — one punt and one kickoff — and was named the Class 3A Player of the Year by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association.
“Ja’Hyde is the most electric player in the state of Kentucky,” CAL coach Hunter Cantwell said. “He is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. He regularly made other top prospects on opposing teams look slow and unathletic. He is simply unstoppable when he touches the field.”
