Louisville women’s basketball‘s second stop on a three-game road trip is at Virginia for a 2 p.m. clash today.
The Cardinals (12-5, 5-1 ACC) were riding high on a seven-game winning streak, which moved them up in ESPN’s NCAA Tournament bracketology. But after a road loss to Virginia Tech, they dropped to an 8 seed with a little more than a month left in the regular season.
With some of U of L’s more difficult games coming up, being able to get wins over the Cavaliers (11-9, 3-5) and SMU — the third stop of the road trip — will be important, especially with third-ranked Notre Dame coming to town on Feb. 2.
Louisville has only lost to Virginia three times in 15 meetings and has a 5-2 road record against the Cavaliers. But the Cavs’ third win came last year at the KFC Yum! Center.
