With LSU football’s 2025 recruiting class finalized, the attention turns to 2026. It’s the time of year where prospects lock in official visits for the summer.
On Monday, LSU secured a visit from a former Tiger commit. Four-star defensive linemen JaReylan McCoy will visit LSU this summer, per Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman. On3’s Chad Simmons later confirmed the same news.
Per the On3 Industry Rankings, McCoy is the No. 88 overall ranked recruit in the class. He ranks No. 8 at his position and No. 5 in the state of Mississippi. The On3 Prediction Machine has Ole Miss as the early favorite with a 98.3% chance of landing McCoy.
McCoy was previously committed to LSU but reopened his commitment earlier this month. But with the Tigers lining up a visit, Brian Kelly and staff remain in the race, though it will be hard to pry the blue-chip recruit from Mississippi.
LSU’s 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 7 in the country. It has five commits. Four of those five are blue-chip recruits.
LSU is looking for a big year recruiting defensive tackles. Along with McCoy in Mississippi, there are several blue-chip defensive linemen in the state of Louisiana.
