No. 3 Texas A&M (7-0, 4-0 SEC) has arrived in Baton Rouge and is less than 24 hours away from facing No. 20 LSU (5-2, 2-2 SEC) in what’s widely considered the biggest game of the weekend with College Football Playoff implications for both programs. However, Texas A&M is still considered the more complete team, while the Tigers, who are coming off a road loss to Vanderbilt, have not lived up to their potential all season.
Still, LSU’s defense, which has dramatically improved, especially in the secondary led by cornerbacks Mansoor Delare and DJ Pickett, but according to 247Sports reporter, LSU’s star linebacker, Whit Weeks, will miss Saturday’s game due to an ankle injury, as he’s been listed as doubtful throughout the week. Last season, the Georgia native recorded an impressive 120 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and four pass deflections, and has become the defensive leader among a veteran group.

Before his injury, Weeks had recorded 26 tackles and a sack, including ten tackles during the Tigers’ road loss to Ole Miss, and while it isn’t confirmed, redshirt freshman linebacker Tyler Singleton or sophomore Davhon Keys will rotate in his place.
These are the best options available, but Weeks’ injury is an obvious opening for Texas A&M’s run game to find its footing, while starting quarterback Marcel Reed should be able to carve up the middle of the field with transfer wide receivers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion’s separation in coverage.
Even with Weeks out, Texas A&M’s offense will need to produce enough explosive plays while controlling the clock to wear down LSU’s defensive front, as the Aggies did in the second half against Arkansas.
Friday’s updated injury report remains the same for the Aggies, as running back Le’Veon Moss, safety Bryce Anderson, and freshman safety Rashad “Tom Tom” Johnson Jr. will miss the game.
