LSU women’s basketball star Flau’Jae Johnson is a finalist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year award, announced Tuesday.

The Tigers’ leading scorer with 18.9 points per game, Johnson is one of five finalists for the award, given annually by the Naismith Hall of Fame. She’s joined on the list by Florida State’s Ta’Niya Latson, Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo, USC’s JuJu Watkins and Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes.

Johnson earned an All-SEC First Team nod from the conference and USA Today this week. She scored 20 points 15 times this season and posted five double-doubles. The junior guard shot 46.5% from the field and 37.2% from three-point range in the regular season.

On the defensive end, Johnson consistently guards the opposition’s top perimeter player. She forces turnovers and averages 1.6 steals per game. Alongside her teammates, Johnson pushes the pace of play and helps the Tigers score in transition. She also averages 2.4 assists per contest.

Johnson will not suit up during the SEC Tournament as LSU opted to prioritize her health for the NCAA Tournament.
