For the third time in his storied career, Michael Jordan is enjoying a threepeat. The difference here, is it’s a NASCAR threepeat, not an NBA one.
23XI Racing star Tyler Reddick reached the checkered flag first – for a third straight time – in Sunday’s Texas Grand Prix. In doing so, Reddick became the first driver in NASCAR Cup Series history to win the first three races of a season. By extension, Jordan – 23XI Racing’s owner – gets credit for the feat as well.

For MJ’s longtime friend and former NBA rival Magic Johnson, it’s a time to celebrate. Taking to X on Monday, Johnson extended his congratulations to Jordan on his historic feat.
“I want to congratulate my friend Michael Jordan once again! His 23XI Racing team won its 3 straight NASCAR race to start the 2026 season making NASCAR history!”
Praise for Jordan and Magic
Jordan and Magic are far from the only ones celebrating what 23XI Racing has done in the past three weeks. Fans took to the comments of Magic’s post to give their own thoughts on what he’s done this season.

“Now we have one of the greats in Magic Johnson giving NASCAR more spotlight and much more eyes on the sport. @Kenny_Wallace you were right, it’s the MJ effect !!” one user remarked.
“That’s solid of you legend! Support you fellow man. That needs to spread!” wrote another.
“What a weekend for Jordan, winning NASCAR races & shooting down Iranian drones. Unstoppable,” a third joked.

Last year 23XI Racing drivers Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick both reached the NASCAR Cup playoffs and finished in the top-12. After that, a vicious lawsuit between Jordan and NASCAR ensued, culminating in significant boosts in respect for Jordan and a settlement with NASCAR that was seen as a major blow to the racing body’s dominance over the sport.

Right now, those two drivers are No. 1-2 in points scored and enjoying one of the best starts to a season by any team in NASCAR history.
It’s almost impossible for things to go better for Jordan and his NASCAR partners right now. But they certainly can.
