March Madness 2025 is upon us, and at least 20 former Indiana high school basketball stars are trying to lead their teams to deep NCAA Tournament runs. Carmel and Cathedral have two players each on tournament rosters. Purdue has six scholarship players from Indiana high schools, while Illinois has three.
Meet the Hoosier high schoolers playing in March Madness.
Indiana high school basketball players in the men’s NCAA Tournament (non-Purdue division)
The 2024 Indiana Mr. Basketball plays 16 minutes per game for the Jayhawks, averaging 5.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. Kansas is a No. 7 seed in the West and will play Arkansas.
Xavier Booker, Michigan State (Cathedral)
The sophomore big man plays 13 minutes per game for the Spartans, averaging 4.8 points per game. MSU is the South No. 2 seed and plays Bryant.
The freshman is a part-time starter for the Cougars, averaging 7.6 points per game on 35.5% 3-point shooting. BYU is seeded 6th in the East Regional and plays Virginia Commonwealth.
The former Indiana State player has made the most of his first season with Xavier, averaging 16.8 points per game on 41.8% 3-point shooting. He scored 38 points last week in a Big East Tournament loss to Marquette. The Musketeers play Texas (which features ISU transfers Julian Larry and Jayson Kent) in the First Four for a No. 11 Midwest seed and a chance to play Illinois.

Dre Davis, Mississippi (Lawrence Central)
The fifth-year player starts for the Rebels, averaging 10.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Ole Miss is the South Regional No. 6 seed and plays the winner of the North Carolina-San Diego State First Four game.
Jake Davis, Illinois (Cathedral)
Davis is in his first season with the Illini, playing 10 minutes per game and averaging 3.1 points. Illinois is the Midwest No. 6 seed, playing the winner of the play-in game between Texas and Xavier.

Johnell Davis, Arkansas (Gary 21st Century)
Davis already has Final Four experience, two seasons ago for Florida Atlantic. He’s with the Razorbacks in his final college season, starting and averaging 11.2 points per game. Arkansas is seeded 10th in the West and plays Kansas.
The guard is a key reserve for the Illini, averaging 6.3 points per game. Illinois is the Midwest No. 6 seed, playing the winner of the play-in game between Texas and Xavier.
The four-year Purdue forward plays about 15 minutes per game for the East Regional No. 1 seed, scoring 4.3 points per game. Is another Final Four appearance in his future?
The junior guard averages 4.2 points per game, hitting 38.6% of his 3-pointers. The Tigers are seeded 5th in the Midwest Region and play McNeese.
Humrichous started for much of the season but has recently come off the bench for the Illini, averaging 8.0 points and 3.8 rebounds. Illinois is the Midwest No. 6 seed, playing the winner of the play-in game between Texas and Xavier.
The junior appeared in five games this season. The Golden Eagles are seeded 7th in the South and play New Mexico.
Sin’Cere McMahon, Norfolk State (Crispus Attucks)
McMahon plays 17 minutes per game for the Spartans, averaging 5.5 points. Norfolk State won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament and is a No. 16 seed in the West Regional and plays No. 1 Florida.
Tony Perkins, Missouri (Lawrence North)
The four-year Iowa player starts for Missouri, averaging 8.7 points per game. The Tigers are seeded 6th in the West and will play Drake.
Jalen Washington, North Carolina (Gary West Side)
The junior forward started 16 games for the Tar Heels, averaging 5.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. UNC plays San Diego State in the First Four to earn an No. 11 seed and play Ole Miss.
In his first season with the Bisons, the junior is a part-time starter averaging 5.6 points per game. Lipscomb won the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament and is the South Regional No. 14 seed, playing No. 3 Iowa State.
He appeared in nine games for the Zips, who won the Mid-American Conference tournament and are seeded 13th in the East Regional. Akron plays No. 4 Arizona.
