The program continues rebuilding under second-year head coach Darian DeVries after he guided Indiana to an 18–14 record in his first season, narrowly missing the NCAA Tournament as one of the First Four teams left out of the field. The Hoosiers have aggressively attacked the transfer portal, using significant financial resources to assemble a roster capable of competing with many of college basketball’s top programs.

As spending continues to rise across the country, Indiana has firmly inserted itself into the national conversation. Meanwhile, programs such as Texas, Duke, and Kentucky have also pursued aggressive roster-building strategies. The Hoosiers’ financial investment, however, clearly reflects their determination to return to national relevance and compete at a higher level moving forward.

On3’s Pete Nakos shared Mark Cuban’s comments on X, formerly known as Twitter, after asking about Indiana’s growing NIL footprint and his role as one of the school’s most recognizable supporters.

“I just give money to the school. They decide where it goes.”
