Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault continued to elevate his performance in 2025/26 after guiding the team to a championship the previous season, according to star wing Jalen Williams (subscriber-only story via Jenni Carlson of The Oklahoman).
Even though Daigneault may not be among the finalists for Coach of the Year despite Oklahoma City finishing with the league’s best record for a second straight year, his players remain highly complimentary of his work, Carlson notes.
Veteran Alex Caruso highlighted how Daigneault has kept the team focused on growth, even after reaching the top.
“And I think especially for us this season, it’s been big because coming off winning a championship, winning however many games, the margins are small for where you can find improvement,” Caruso said.
“But I think he’s done a great job of searching for it and pushing us to try and find some ways to get better as well.”
