Maycee Barber is in good health despite some scary scenes in her UFC Fight Night 271 loss to Alexa Grasso.
Barber (15-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) got the worst of it on Saturday at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle when, in her long-awaited rematch with Grasso (17-5-1 MMA, 9-5-1 UFC), was brutally dropped in the opening minutes before being choked in a highlight-reel sequence.

The result put a screeching halt to Barber’s push for a women’s flyweight title shot, and she laid motionless in the center of the octagon for a prolonged period after the fight was stopped. Barber ultimately got up and left the octagon under her own power, but there was natural concern about her medical status.
According to her team, Barber is doing just fine. “The Future” shared multiple Instagram Stories from coaches and teammates on her feed confirming she’s in good health and already thinking about getting back in the cage.
