In a groundbreaking move, Turkish archer Mete Gazoz has become the first archer to sign with the famous energy drink brand, Red Bull.
Interestingly, the athlete’s name translates from Turkish to English as ‘soda’, which adds a fun twist to his connection with the brand.
Gazoz, who made history by securing an impressive ‘golden triple’ with victories at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, 2023 Hyundai World Archery Championships and 2024 European Archery Championships, is now part of Red Bull’s elite athlete team.
“An exciting journey is beginning for me,” Gazoz said about the partnership. “I have always closely followed Red Bull’s commitment to sports and athletes. I was thrilled when my career management team told me they had started negotiations with Red Bull.”
The 25-years-old, widely regarded as of the sport’s greatest talents, joins fellow Olympic Champion Mondo Duplantis and world-renowned athletes such as Lindsey Vonn, Max Verstappen and Neymar.
Gazoz has felt more than welcome since signing and has already started floating potential ideas with the company in order to push his stature further.
“Rather than calling it the ‘Red Bull world’, I prefer to call it the ‘Red Bull family’. I’ve only been part of the team for a short time, but from the very first moment, they made me feel that family spirit.”
“We have some great ideas in mind, and I hope we can bring them all to life shortly.”
Gazoz has already established himself as a dominant force on the international archery scene, but the new partnership with Red Bull marks a significant milestone in his career, with the athlete expressing his excitement at being the first archer to represent the brand.
