The Mets have signed right-hander Justin Hagenman to a one-year major league contract, the team announced on Monday.

According to SNY contributor Joe DeMayo, it is a split contract.

Hagenman, 28, has spent his entire six-year career in the minors and pitched for the Worcester Red Sox, Boston’s Triple-A affiliate, in 2024 where he went 4-6 with a 4.91 ERA (1.32 WHIP) in 28 games (15 starts), adding a sweeper to his repertoire that graded out pretty well, per DeMayo. It was the first time Hagenman exceeded five starts in a season.

The right-hander also struck out 98 batters in a career-high 91.2 innings last year and owns a 9.3 K/9 rate throughout his career in the minor leagues where he’s gone 32-15, pitching to a 3.87 ERA in 200 games (25 starts).

Born in Voorhees, N.J., Hagenman was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 23rd round (pick No. 704) in the 2018 MLB Draft out of Penn State.
