The Los Angeles Sparks started the WNBA season 1-0 after their 84-67 win over the Golden State Valkyries on Friday.
Dearica Hamby, now in her third season with the Sparks and a 2022 WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces, recorded a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and one assist.

Prior to the game, Hamby showed off her outfit as she entered Chase Center in San Francisco. She wore a custom Jumpman look covered in Swarovski crystals — a black and silver two-piece set featuring a cropped criss-cross halter top paired with a high-slit skirt.
The outfit was completed with crystal-covered Air Jordan 1 lows, bracelets and a necklace. She rocked natural makeup with a crystal wing, straight hair and silver nails.
LeagueFits posted Hamby’s outfit on social media, and Michael Jordan’s daughter, Jasmine M. Jordan, reacted with a comment.

Hamby has an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand and is one of a few WNBA players to have a deal — alongside Jordin Canada, Te’a Cooper, Crystal Dangerfield, Satou Sabally and most recently Napheesa Collier.

In 2021, Hamby shared her thoughts on the partnership during a phone interview with The Athletic.
“When I got drafted, I really wanted to sign with Nike, and it didn’t happen,” Hamby said. “And Jordan only had Maya Moore; it wasn’t really a thing for other women to sign with Jordan. I kept being like, ‘I got to sign with Nike or I gotta sign with Jordan.'”
Hamby said it was a done deal with Jordan Brand the moment they presented to her.
“I get on the Zoom call and they have this whole presentation laid out for me about why they want me to be on the Jordan team,” Hamby said.
“I was literally like, ‘Oh, (expletive),’ because I didn’t know that the call was gonna go that way. They’re doing this presentation and I’m like, ‘Holy crap, it’s done. You guys don’t have to say anything else. It’s a done deal.'”
