Michigan football makes top group for four-star CB Andre Clarke

by

Michigan football has had a long line of elite-level cornerbacks come through the program, but recruiting top-flight boundary defensive backs has sometimes been something of a challenge.

It took much of the recruiting cycle last year before Jayden Sanders committed and then before Shamari Earls flipped from Georgia to the maize and blue. In 2026, the Wolverines already have a solid corner committed in Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star CB Brody Jennings having been the first to pledge to the class. But Michigan is looking for at least one more.

One potential prospect is 2026 Richmond (Va.) Hermitage four-star cornerback Andre Clarke, rated by 247Sports as the No. 132 player in the country, regardless of position. On Saturday, he revealed his top eight schools, and Michigan made the cut.

While Michigan faces tough competition, the Wolverines are one of the more marquee schools to make the cut. Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Miami, and SMU round out his list of top schools.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, Kentucky is currently thought to be his leader.
