I don’t care what year it is. I don’t care what the situation is. When Michigan State basketball faces off against Michigan, it’s a huge game. So what does it mean when Michigan and Michigan State are fighting for first place in the Big Ten, and, likely, a top ten ranking in the polls? It means it’s easily one of the biggest games of the year for the Spartans, and they came out on top in the highly anticipated first meeting between these two Big Ten juggernauts, 75 to 62.
It was an exciting, emotional game for Michigan State, who finally pulled ahead in the second half thanks to a three-point barrage from team captain Tre Holloman. MSU fans, who have watched their team go from world-beaters to losing three out of their last six games heading into Friday night, were understandably ecstatic after the win, and you can see some of the best reactions below.

Big win for my Spartans 75-62 over the Wolverines! There were four keys to victory for the Spartans – great adjustments by Coach Izzo and his staff at halftime, excellent defense, 14 offensive rebounds, and 31 points from the bench. The Spartans were led by Richardson with 21…
