Michigan State basketball has lost out on a priority recruit in the 2026 recruiting class, marking their first recruiting loss of the cycle.
Jonathan Sanderson has made his commitment to Notre Dame. A 6-foot-2 point guard, he is the son of former Michigan strength and conditioning coach Jon Sanderson.

Ranking as a 4-star prospect and in the low-50s nationally on every recruiting site, Sanderson started his high school basketball career for Saline (MI) the past two seasons, but will now be joining the nationally renowned La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana.
It is unclear which direction Izzo is going to take his 2026 recruiting class, but one thing is for certain, it will not contain Sanderson.
