Michigan State football gains commitment from Ferris State star

by

Michigan State football has dipped into their own home state for the latest transfer portal addition to the offense. Ferris State transfer Carson Gulker has committed to Michigan State. The Spartans defeated LSU, Texas Tech, SMU and West Virginia, among others for the commitment.

Gulker, a 6-foot-3 and 240 pound offensive gadget, will most likely slot in as a tight end and h-back for the Spartans. Pat Fitzgerald is known for the “superback” position that was famously featured in the Northwestern offense.

At Ferris State, Gulker did it all, playing  h-back, tight end, running back and quarterback for the Bulldogs. Within all four of those positions, Gulker compiled 2,228 yards and 50 touchdowns on the ground, while catching 34 passes for 548 yards and seven touchdowns. Throwing the ball, he was  107-of-176 for 1,591 yards and 16 touchdowns to four interceptions. Quite literally, Gulker is an offensive machine.

A Zeeland (MI) native, Gulker will bring one year of eligibility with him to East Lansing.
