Michigan State transfer guard commits to Santa Clara following two years in East Lansing

by

Michigan State basketball landed guard Gehrig Normand out of North Richland Hills, Texas in the 2023 recruiting class. The guard played two years in East Lansing before making the decision to transfer.

A 6-foot-5 guard, Normand could never really find time to get on the floor for the Spartans. In his two years, he redshirted for one, and in year two, he only played in 13 games for the Spartans. Following the 2024-25 season, Normand entered the transfer portal.

Now, the former Spartan has found his new home. Late on Saturday night, Normand has announced that he has committed to Santa Clara of the West Coast Conference. He will have three years of eligibility with him when he gets to the west coast.

Normand averaged 0.6 points and 0.2 assists during his time in East Lansing, but was known as an outstanding teammate at MSU.
