After winning the national championship in 2023, the Michigan Wolverines took a big dip in 2024 under first-year head coach Sherrone Moore, going just 8-5 overall and 5-4 in Big Ten games.
However, they’re still a prominent program that can very easily entice high-level recruits, and one player they had made an impression on is class of 2026 cornerback Jordan Thomas, who has taken a total of three visits with the team.

Unfortunately, though, on Monday, he announced his commitment and instead of landing with the Wolverines, he chose their heated rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes, with whom he’s visited four times.
This will certainly sting for Michigan, as Thomas was very sought after throughout the recruiting process, as On3 Industry Rankings placed him as a four-star prospect, the No. 19 cornerback and the No. 185 player in the nation.
The Wolverines weren’t the only team disappointed to see him go with Ohio State, because Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Auburn were all considered finalists to land his commitment

In his playing at the varsity level for Bergen Catholic, Thomas has put up some solid numbers, appearing in 27 games, accumulating 105 tackles, three tackles for loss, five interceptions and 14 pass deflections.

Thomas now joins an already impressive recruiting class for Ohio State, which On3 currently ranks No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 3 in the nation with a total of 13 commitments.
That includes several big names such as five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., five-star safety Blaine Bradford, four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt and four-star offensive tackle Sam Greer.
