Gregory Rodrigues hit a barrier in his assent in the middleweight division Saturday when he was stopped by Jared Cannonier in the UFC Fight Night 251 main event.
Rodrigues (16-6 MMA, 7-3 UFC) had an opportunity to break through into the next tier against former title challenger Cannonier (18-8 MMA, 11-8 UFC) at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. After a strong start, he succumbed to a fourth-round TKO to snap a three-fight winning streak.
