Mississippi State basketball has landed a sixth player in the transfer portal.
Brandon Walker, a forward from Montana State, committed to the Bulldogs and coach Chris Jans on May 30. He announced the news in an Instagram post.
Walker, who’s listed at 6-foot-7 and 265 pounds, has averaged double-digit scoring the last two seasons at Montana Tech. In 2023-24, he scored 13.1 points per game with 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists and was named All-Big Sky honorable mention. He was a conference honorable mention again as a junior while averaging 14.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists last season.

Walker shot 38.6% from 3 last season but on just 1.5 attempts per game.

Walker is from Oak Cliff, Texas and played at UT Arlington as a freshman in 2022-23.
He joins a retooled MSU roster that made its third consecutive NCAA tournament but lost seven of its top eight scorers.
The Bulldogs have five other incoming transfers: guard Ja’Borri McGhee (UAB), center Quincy Ballard (Wichita State), guard/forward Amier Ali (Arizona State), wing Achor Achor (Kansas State) and guard Jayden Epps (Georgetown). Their freshmen signing class is ranked No. 12 in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite, with three four-stars: guard King Grace and centers Tee Bartlett and Jamarion Davis-Fleming.

Star guard Josh Hubbard withdrew from the NBA draft on May 21 to return for his junior season.
