For the third time in four years, Missouri State Lady Bears coach Beth Cunningham is going to the University of Kansas pipeline.

Zoe Canfield, a 5-foot-11 guard, will transfer to Missouri State after one season with the Jayhawks, the school announced Friday morning.

Canfield appeared in 15 games at Kansas and made one start. She averaged 1.7 points and scored a career-high 12 points on 4-7 shooting in a late-season loss at Kansas State. She will have at least three seasons of eligibility.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Zoe join our program,” Cunningham said in a release. “We loved her out of high school and are thrilled to now have her as a Lady Bear. Zoe’s work ethic, versatility, ability to score and stretch the floor and her winning mentality will immediately impact our program.”

Out of high school, Canfield was pursued by Southern Illinois and Abilene Christian before committing to Kansas before her junior season.

Cunningham’s previous Kansas transfer additions include Aniya Thomas (2022-23) and Katrine Jessen (2023-24).

Canfield was a standout at Washburn Rural High in Topeka, where she led her team to a state championship in 2022 before finishing as a runner-up the following two years. She was a three-time all-state performer and a finalist for the Topeka Capital-Journal’s Female Athlete of the Year award in 2024. She played her summers with Missouri Phenom, an AAU program, the same team that helped produce Kaemyn Bekemeier.

Canfield will be a welcomed addition to the Lady Bears’ rebuilding backcourt. The team graduated Lacy Stokes and Zoe Stewart while also seeing Kyrah Daniels enter the transfer portal.
