Michigan State football continues to make positive waves towards landing a commitment from a big-time in-state offensive lineman prospect.
Jack Carlson of Brighton, Mich. announced on Saturday that he’ll be taking an official visit to Michigan State in late May. According to a social media post from Carlson, he will visit Michigan State on May 29.

Carlson is listed as a three-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 88 on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 37 offensive tackle and No. 8 player from Michigan in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 467 overall prospect in the class.
Michigan State is one of nearly 20 schools to extend him an offer, according to 247Sports. Other schools to extend him an offer includes Northwestern, Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Colorado State, Miami (OH), Liberty, Kent State, Toledo, Western Michigan and Harvard.
Michigan State currently is the only school to lock in an official visit for Carlson. He is also currently crystal ball predicted to Michigan State, so there’s some clear steam in favor of the Spartans at this time. Hopefully, things will continue to trend that way and Michigan State can add a top 10 in-state prospect to its 2027 class.
