It’s another week of the Recruiting Roundup.
Offers continue to pour in during the spring quiet period, as teams host recruits on campus during Junior Days. In fact, eleven different teams handed out at least one offer this past week, with three teams offering five or more players.

UNLV also picked up two early commitments. Committing this early in the cycle isn’t necessarily common for mid-major teams, but since the recruiting process is constantly moving up, it will be interesting to see how many commits the Rebels and other G5 teams have even before the summer official visit circuit starting at the end of May.
Speaking of early commits, Boise State got a 2028 commit this week, the first in either conference. Quarterbacks are often the first to commit in a recruiting class, but since the Broncos secured their 2027 QB back in October, they started work on their 2028 QB and now landed him over 1.5 years before signing day. While it’s no guarantee they are both still committed by their signing days, it does demonstrate how sped up recruiting is these days. And it’s even quicker with Power 4 schools.
Overall, securing two commits is a nice week for a team, especially in March. Because of that, UNLV is featured on the cover photo this week.

Recruiting Calendar:
Starting today and going through mid-April, we are in a quiet period. On-campus contact is permitted, while off-campus contact is limited to text, calls, and DMs.
Next College Student Athlete says:
The NCAA defines the quiet period as a time when “a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents off the college campus and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high school.” To break it down, the NCAA Quiet Period is a time you can talk to college coaches in-person on their college campus. However, the coach is not allowed to watch athletes compete in-person, visit their school, talk to them at their home—or talk to them anywhere outside of the college campus. Coaches can still text, call, email or direct message coaches during this time.

Commitment Spotlight:
DB Zach Johnston (Air Force)
“The Air Force Academy stood out for me in many different ways. First the non-football side of it was a big deal due to the great opportunities presented post graduation to serve the country. I have been very interested in serving because it brings so many possibilities for me to help so many other people and make an impact. When it comes to football it was also an amazing experience being there for a junior day and meeting all of the coaches. The players and coaches both make the team feel like one big family. Near the end of the visit we had individual position group meetings. This really helped me see why their football program is so great. Coach Carlile the safety’s coach did an amazing job going through how they practice, what he expects from his players, and what we should expect from him. Seeing all of this shows me how valued our development is not only as a football player but also as men is to the program.”
WR Alijah Landrum-Hamilton (Wyoming)
I committed to Wyoming because of the culture Coach Sawvel and the staff are building. They made it clear how they see me fitting in their offense and developing as a receiver. The relationship with the staff and the opportunity to compete in the Mountain West made it feel like the right place for me.
