“My Goat”: Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and Several WNBA All-Stars Drop Heartfelt Comments on Kelsey Mitchell’s All-Star Game Recap

Kelsey Mitchell is surely one of the greatest players and a probable Hall of Famer in the WNBA currently. Since 2023, she has been a regular fixture in the All-Star lineups, making 2026 her fourth appearance. She had a blast this season with two of her Indiana Fever teammates, Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

Mitchell has averaged 23.3 points per game, leading the offense for her team. Drafted by the franchise second overall in 2018, her growth story has been nothing short of inspirational. After Saturday’s All-Star Game that ended in a win for Caitlin Clark’s Team Spoon, 129-122, the Team Coop guard shared the moments from the weekend on Instagram.

Mitchell wrote in the caption:

“walked in the rain…
withstood the pain…
reapin’ the benefits of my hustle, tell ’em i don’t want fame…
🧘🏽‍♀️”

Mitchell was clinical even in the All-Star Game. Though her team lost, she scored 28 points in 22 minutes, shooting 5-11 from deep. Marina Mabrey also helped with 23 points. Her Fever teammate Clark commented:

“my goattttt❤️‍🔥”

Another All-Star teammate, Boston, wrote:

“goat talk🐐proud of you babesss🥰”

Mirchell’s Fever teammate Lexie Hull was fangirling over Mitchell:

Other fellow players from the league also showered her with praise for a successful All-Star campaign.

Kelsey Mitchell showered praise on her teammate before the All-Star Game

Before the All-Star Game, Kelsey Mitchell addressed the media and answered a few questions about her game and her All-Star teammates. Talking about Clark, she had some high praise for the Fever superstar and hailed her maturity at such a young age. She said:

“Very respectful. Always bought into the program. I do think she’s young, so people create this narrative that she has it all put together at 22 or 23 years old, which is really diabolically crazy. So she’s like, they think that she’s like superhuman when it comes to some of the stuff that she goes through but I would say that the discourse that she does get it just comes from people not, like I said, being decent humans.”

Mitchell also believed that Clark was one of the most talented young stars with a great support system behind her. The shooting guard also addressed the issue of physical altercations on the court and suggested that the squad has done good work on protecting her this season.

Mitchell and Co. have looked comfortable going into the All-Star break and will hope to return to winning ways once again when the league resumes.
