Denny Hamlin climbs NASCAR championship odds, all-time wins list
The guys discuss Denny Hamlin’s win at Las Vegas and what it means for the NASCAR playoffs and career wins list. They also preview the Talladega race.
Of course, there was overtime. A NASCAR playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway? There was always going to be overtime.
After leader Chris Buescher was spun out with two laps left in regulation on Sunday, Oct. 19, Chase Briscoe took advantage, prevailing during the extra few laps. He won the YellaWood 500. It was the second of three events in the Cup Series playoffs’ Round of 8.
Briscoe became the second driver to lock himself into the championship four, joining Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin. He led 16 laps and beat runner-up Todd Gilliland. Ty Gibbs also cracked the top three.
Here is the final finishing order.
