Natalie Bremer repeats as All-NSIC first-team choice

Feb. 28—MANKATO — For the second straight season, Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Natalie Bremer has been named first-team All-Northern Sun Conference in women’s basketball.

Bremer was joined on the first team by teammate Destinee Bursch.

Bremer, a junior guard and former Lake City star, is the Mavericks’ leading scorer and averaged 19 points per game in conference play while shooting 48% from the field and 86% from the free-throw line.

Bremer was also second in the NSIC in steals with 60, and averaged 4.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

The 5-foot-11 guard ended the regular season with 15 20-point games, including a pair of 30-point outings. She’s fifth on the Mavericks’ all-time scoring list and surpassed 1,500 career points this season.

It’s the third time that Bremer has been named All-NSIC. She made the second team as a freshman.

Minnesota State, Mankato is 18-4 in the NSIC and 22-6 overall. It plays the University of Mary in the quarterfinals of the NSIC Tournament at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
